Week 15

The Camellia (~8–12 cm) is layered rather than loud. Its many petals suit a week when the story may be gaining detail in ways only you can see.

Pansy — a watercolour botanical drawn at the size of a baby at 15 weeks
Week 15 — a pansy, at your baby’s true size: 10.1 cm (4.0 in), crown to rump.

How big is the baby at 15 weeks?

About 10.1 cm (4.0 in), measured crown to rump — the size of a pansy.1

The fetus is around 10.1 cm from head to bottom. A soft layer of hair called lanugo is growing over the body, eyebrows and eyelashes are beginning to develop, and the eyes are sensitive to light.

15 weeks pregnant is how many months?

Week 15 falls in the fourth month of pregnancy. Weeks and months don’t divide evenly, and your antenatal care counts in weeks — so Zohra keeps weeks, and prints the month for the relatives who ask.

That puts you in the second trimester (weeks 14–27).

What might you be noticing?

More milky vaginal discharge, bloating, constipation, and indigestion or heartburn can occur this week. Changes in skin or hair may also be present.1

Choose breathable, comfortable layers and keep a spare pair of underwear in your bag if that makes the day easier. Add a single new line to your keepsake rather than waiting for a perfect long entry.

For the record: What new layer has this experience added to your sense of home or self? — this week’s page in the app asks the same thing. All forty prompts are here.
