The pregnancy app that keeps almost nothing
The biggest pregnancy titles on the web are advertising-funded, and the FTC has brought enforcement actions against apps in this category over exactly that. Zohra’s free tier never uploads a pregnancy record at all — a design decision with a legal consequence, in a post-Dobbs United States where cycle and pregnancy data has become evidence.
Forty botanical drawings instead of forty pieces of fruit
Every week is drawn as a flower at the baby’s true scale, with the real measurement printed beside it — because a comparison alone asks to be trusted, and a comparison with the number beside it can be checked.
An app that refuses to congratulate you automatically
Nothing in Zohra bounces, sparkles, or throws confetti. There are no risk scores and no confidence percentages. Pregnancy loss is common enough that any app in this category will be open on somebody’s worst day, and an app that celebrates on its own cannot be trusted with that week.
What it means to say health content is “not clinically reviewed”
Zohra’s week pages cite the NHS and a clinical fetal-development table, and say on every page that no clinician has reviewed them — and omit the structured-data properties that would imply otherwise. It is an unusually literal position in a category where sourcing is routinely presented as review.
