Built like a book, not a dashboard.

Zohra is a pregnancy companion and keepsake app for iPhone, made by MK Studios.

Why it exists

Pregnancy apps mostly look the same: a fruit comparison, a countdown, a forum, a wall of advertising, and a data policy written by somebody whose job is to keep the data flowing. They are built to hold attention. Almost none of them are built to be kept.

Zohra started from the opposite question — what would you want to still have in ten years? The answer was not a step count or a symptom graph. It was the letters, the photographs, the sound from the appointment, and a record of what you were thinking that week. So that is what the app is organised around, and the weekly information is written to be worth reading rather than worth scrolling.

What it is not

  • Not medical care. Zohra does not diagnose, does not score risk, and does not replace your midwife or doctor. When something belongs in a clinic, it says so and stops.
  • Not advertising-funded. There is no advertising in Zohra and no plan for any. It is paid for by the people who use it.
  • Not a social network. There is no feed, no comparison, and no audience.
  • Not clinically reviewed yet. The weekly corpus is written from public clinical sources and every page links them, but no clinician has reviewed it. We say that on every page rather than letting a citation imply a review. How the writing works

Who makes it

MK Studios is a small independent studio. Zohra is not venture-funded, has no advertising partners, and has no growth team — which is most of the explanation for why it behaves the way it does. Decisions that would be uncomfortable at a company with an advertising business are simply available here.

The design, the botanical drawings, the writing and the engineering are done in house. The weekly information is sourced from public clinical references, and the plan for clinical review is written down publicly on the editorial policy page rather than described in the past tense before it has happened.

How to reach us

Support and everything else: support@zohrababy.com. Privacy requests, including deletion and export: privacy@zohrababy.com. Press: the press page has the facts and the assets.

We read everything. A small studio has that one advantage over a large one, and it is worth using.
