Week 10

The Cherry blossom (~3 cm) is a brief, bright marker of change. It holds the feeling of a moment arriving before you are quite ready to name it.

Cherry blossom — a watercolour botanical drawn at the size of a baby at 10 weeks
Week 10 — a cherry blossom, at your baby’s true size: 3.1 cm (1.2 in), crown to rump.

How big is the baby at 10 weeks?

About 3.1 cm (1.2 in), measured crown to rump — the size of a cherry blossom.1

The fetus is around 30 mm from head to bottom and can make small movements that may be seen on a scan. The face is becoming more proportioned as the ears, upper lip, nostrils, jaw, and early milk teeth continue forming.

10 weeks pregnant is how many months?

Week 10 falls in the third month of pregnancy. Weeks and months don’t divide evenly, and your antenatal care counts in weeks — so Zohra keeps weeks, and prints the month for the relatives who ask.

That puts you in the first trimester (weeks 1–13).

What might you be noticing?

Tiredness, nausea, and bloating can continue. Indigestion or heartburn and dizziness may also show up.1

Try smaller pockets of activity and rest instead of asking the day to run at one speed. Save one sentence about what is changing—and one about what still feels exactly the same.

For the record: What arrived briefly this week that you would like to keep? — this week’s page in the app asks the same thing. All forty prompts are here.
